FIELDS OF DEVELOPMENT

JIAIDO is working on all four levels of our being - physical, emotional, mental and spiritual - at the same time.

The effects of the method come to us through 3 gateways establishing a complex evolution for the practitioner: body awareness, emotion-management and open mindedness.

It does not matter which part we wish to develop in ourselves at the first place, it will bring with itself the rising of all other elements as well.

Body awareness
BODY AWARENESS

To develop body awareness is the first and most fundamental step towards developing awareness of our whole being, of our own life.

The way we relate to our body, the way we use the body shows clearly what is going on inside of us. It represents our personality, our mind structure and the way we relate to the world. By improving, refining moves with JIAIDO we actualy learn much more than a new movement style. We work directly on our inner world, on the subconscious mind which is so invisible and so difficult to grasp for most of us otherwise.

We improve our fitness and health and at the same time we learn how to manage  emotions, how to relate to thoughts and reach the highest potential in our life. The result of the diligent work shows in fast improvement on our general wellbeing, our behaviour, decisions and relations. By developing  bodyawareness we make a great step towards growing universal awareness upon the laws and basic principles of existence. It means we gain the ultimate wisdom for a happy life.

On the first stage of the practice we work on developing advanced skills to correct the bodyposition, to move it in different rythms by will, to balance and coordinate consciously in complex movements. At the same time, we grow a healthy, attentive and caring relation with the body, we learn its language and needs.

In the more advanced stages, JIAIDO aims to directing attention from the outside world and its happenings to our inner being for a prolonged period of time. The techniques guide us to become continuously aware of the movement and the breathing simultaneously and bring harmony and silence to the exercise. The various form practises (kata) guide the attention to the center of our being and even change the thought patterns of the mind. By JIAIDO we gradually develop a completely new relation, a loving connection to our body.

Emotion management
EMOTION MANAGEMENT

Emotions seem to rule our daily lives. We react, communicate and make decisions depending on how we feel at the given moment. We relate to our environment very differently whether we are happy or sad, angry, worried or excited. Our behavior, our relationships are dominantly influenced by emotions and they are highly responsible for our goals and achievements as well. Regardless if we are a so called emotional or rational type, emotions are simply the backbone of our life.

All humans share the desire for pleasant emotions and the urge to escape from all the pain and suffering of the unpleasant ones. The struggle to balance between the emotional highs and lows is there with all of us. The difficulty starts there that even they play such a dominant role in our everyday actually we rearly look to the different emotions; we do not take the time and learn how to manage them, master them. Often we are not even able to put in words what is going on inside of us or express it at least without destruction. Most of us hardly take the initiative or even if than do not know where to look for the practical help how to use emotions constructively instead of being used by them.

Emotions are helping tools for our survival and not meant to be a captivating or torturing enemy. They are basically a form of language, tool of communication which developed in our system way before verbal speech. It is a language of the subconscious mind what communicates by creating different sets of body sensations in respond to external or internal happenings. These signals lead us into decisions and actions, compel us to do something or avoid something in the name of saving our life. At the same time emotions are assisting device in our hand to express externally what is going on inside of us at any given moment.

The word emotion means energy in motion. Energy what moves like a wave, always changing, always in a flow. It starts, develops, inflates, reaches its climax, dissipates and disappears slowly, then transforms into another kind of emotion. If we suffer we do not suffer because of emotions themselves but because of the conditioned way we interpret them, use them or because of labeling them as good or bad. For example if we get angry that can be a natural reaction to a given situation, a very adequate response. But if we were punished as children for expressing anger, we learnt to suppress it, so as adults we might become sad or feel helpless instead of letting out anger. Sometimes, if the conditioning was strong enough or lasted for long enough, we cannot even recognize what caused our sadness or why we explode suddenly. Therefore the first step is to learn how to recognize an emotion, identify it and then express it in a healthy way.

JIAIDO with its emotion management gives us the ability to master all emotions, pleasant or unpleasant. The practice guides us how to use them freely, constructively and transform its energy into creative actions. With JIAIDO we develop more and more awareness on emotions. We learn how to recognize and understand them in ourselves and in others, their spectrum of shades and levels widens. JIAIDO gives a great help to release old, stuck emotional memories from the system which might block us for many years from the best performance in our work, relations or private life. The practice in the dojo with the four rhythms - gives a chance to experience deep, intensive emotions instead of the usual habit of avoiding or suppressing them. The key for being able to handle intensive emotions first we need to meet them, feel them face to face, we need to express them freely in a consciously designed, guided playful manner.

By the management training we become able to relate to others better, to manage our behavior and relationship better. We are going to be able to execute and achieve things we want with stability and willpower.

By mastering emotion management we become able to discipline and control ourselves without suppression, we save ourselves from those well-known crashes and extreme peaks and have a more even, balanced journey through everyday life.

Open mind
OPEN MIND

Are you ready to discover what lies beyond your imagined borders?

Open mindedness is one of the most important qualities we need in our lives. It is necessary to be open, to be receptive at any age, if we want to grow, get to know and realize. To be open minded means to have a constant desire to learn, to develop, to receive new impulses from our environment. It means that we dare to discover consciously what is going on inside and outside of us and we dare to enter the unknown even despite of fear or hesitation.

This can be challenging at times, because most of us live with a certain set of beliefs, values, ideology, rules and logic that we tend to consider the only reality. However, in order to widen our perspective and see someone else’s point of view as well we need to put aside these beliefs for a while. This does not mean that we need to change our beliefs or adopt all new ideas blindly, but it means to give ourselves the freedom to do so with insight at any time.

Open-mindedness in short means that we have the courage to live honestly.

We recognize that we do not know everything, we do not have all the answers, we are not always right. This requires a calm mind, inner stability and humbleness at the same time. Otherwise there remains the opposite of openness; closedness, stubbornness, inflexibility, ignorance and arrogance.

Being open means we are inclusive, tolerant, patient and understanding with others. We are receptive to other opinions and ultimately we are willing to follow the rules, which were created by a power greater than ourselves; by life.

Why JIAIDO places emphasis on that?

Today more than ever we live in a world that is constantly changing. In order to keep up and be able to go with the flow of life, we need to train a clear, calm and flexible mind. With such a mind space opens up inside and around us, we connect to our own being and to others more deeply. Our view about the world expands, wisdom and freedom arrives to our life.
